Still plugging away...

Wow!!! So much paperwork! Not much is new with the adoption. We are just waiting for our physicals so we can send App 2 in. Our homestudy agency has been approved through Dillon, so that's one less thing to worry about. As soon as we get the go ahead we can get moving on our homestudy. We had a bit of an emotional streak trying to figure out who the children's guardians would be if something were to happen to us. It's a topic that we've discussed in the past but always wound up avoiding. We prayed and eventually our hearts led us in the right direction. :) On a "fun" note...we decided that since we are redecorating a bedroom for Malina, it's only fair that the boys get bedroom make-overs as well. YEAH!! I love to decorate!! So... needless to say, they are thrilled.

Update...

We just received notice yesterday that our APP 1 has been approved by Dillon International and we are moving forward with the adoption... It will be a long process but we are already starting to get things ready for our little girl. With all of the little projects we have going on in the house (not to mention paper work), it should help make the time go by faster. Even though we are a ways out from getting a referral for our little one, we have chosen to name her already. I'm told that the Indian government recommends adoptive parents give their child a Hindu name... our daughter's name will be... MALINA ZAHRA ALSWORTH... we will use whatever her given name is at birth as a second middle name. "Malina Zahra" means dark and beautiful in Hindu. Please continue to pray for our family and Malina as we move through the long process.

The long process has begun...

The first set of paper work for our adoption was sent to Dillon International on December 5, 2007. "App 1" was received but do to the ice storm in Oklahoma, Dillon has been closed for most of this week. Uhg... we'll just have to wait.
